Create Global Quick Actions for Record Types


Global Quick Actions layouts are created for multiple Record Types in Salesforce. The layout will apply to the record type when it is selected during Global Quick Action creation.


If a Global Quick Action is not created for any record type, the default object's page layout will be reflected within the Recruiterbolt Chrome Extension during record creation/editing.


The name of the Global Quick Action name should contain “salesbolt” otherwise it will not be considered during record creation.


Creating the Global Quick Actions in Salesforce


  1. Navigate to the Setup tab of Salesforce

  2. Navigate to User Interface >> Global Actions >> Global Actions



  1. Click on New Action button to create a new layout and select options for the below dropdown

    1. Select Action Type 

    2. Select Target Object

    3. Select Record Type

    4. Select Standard Label Type

    5. Enter name with “Salesbolt_” prefix


And click on the Save button


Note: 

  • Global Quick Action Name should contain “Salesbolt”. For example “Salesbolt_Candidate”

  • Global Quick Action will work under the following conditions. 

    1. If the Contact Object is IS NOT using Record Types:

    2. If the Contact Object is IS using Record Types:


  1. When Contact is not using custom record types


  1. When Contact is using custom record types


  1. The layout will be created with default fields and the user can add new fields 


  1. Add New fields and click on the Save button and fields will be added on the layout


  1. The Global Quick Action will display once Saved


  1. Login into Salesbolt Extension with the same Salesforce credentials and navigate to 

Extension Settings >> Advanced Tab


  1. Click on Check Salesforce for recent changes button in the Advanced tab and the changes done in Salesforce will be synced with Extension.


 10.  When Contact is not using custom record types



Click on Create Contact and the Global Quick Action layout will be opened for the record.



  1. Open Salesbolt Extension and open any profile to create record


  1. When Contact has one or more custom record types.

Click on the record type for which Global Quick Action is created. In the below example, the layout is created for the Candidate Record Type so on clicking the Create: Candidate button, the below layout will open for the Candidate Record Type.

    

    The layout will have the fields which are present in Global Quick Action created for the    respective Record Type. 



  1. Click on the record type for which Global Quick Action is not created. In this example, Global Quick Action is not created for Employer so on clicking the Create: Employer button, the default layout will open for Employer record type
